    child of Nikhil Pardeshi

    from Pune, Maharashtra

“My son has been suffering since he was 2 months old. There are so many days where he just cries and refuses to take any food because the pain is too much for him to bear. All I want for him is to know what a normal childhood seems like. I don’t want him to remember just his sickness when he grows up,” said Neha.

Neha and Nikhil’s son, Shaurya (2.5) is suffering from Biliary Atresia. He was diagnosed with the ailment when he was barely 2 months old. It took some time for Shaurya’s parents to understand what was wrong with their son.

“He was sleeping a lot and used to cry continuously. We took him to a doctor in Pune but they couldn’t tell us anything at first. A few tests later, they told us that our son has jaundice and had to undergo surgery at the earliest. Our son had to be operated on when he was barely 2 months old. That was one of the most painful days for me to witness,” said Nikhil

Two years later, Shaurya now has to undergo a liver transplant to survive. Shaurya’s mother, Neha is the donor and the surgery is scheduled at the earliest. The doctors have asked the family to arrange Rs 15 lakhs, without which the surgery cannot take place.

“We have spent Rs 6 lakhs for Shaurya’s treatment so far. We have taken loans from everyone we could think of and have nothing left to spare. There is no one left to help us and our son now,” said Neha.

Shaurya’s father is a daily wage labourer and earns at most Rs.400 per day in Pune. But this is only when he manages to find work at all.

“With each passing day, it is becoming more and more difficult for my husband to get a job. And with the amount my husband makes, he has to look after a family of six. My in-laws stay with us, and my elder son, Rudra (4) has just started school. The expenses needed to cover all of us is barely made. How can we possibly manage to make the Rs 15 lakh that is required to save our son?” asked Neha.

For the parent's, Shaurya's pain is getting too much to bear. They are begging for your help to save their son and ensure a normal childhood for him.
