When people compliment my son saying that he looks healthy and bright it doesn’t bring me joy, it brings me immense pain and sorrow. It reminds me how every minute my son is moving closer to death and how much he is suffering. From the very next minute of his birth till now, he has been struggling to survive each day with a deadly tumour in his body and without a surgery, he will not survive.”
-Ashwini, mother

Every night I fear I might lose my child

6-month-old Shaurya suffers from Thymoma, a rare type of tumour that forms in the thymus gland, a gland that plays an important function both in the immune system and endocrine system. It is causing severe respiratory issues and chest pain for this little child.

He cries all night unable to sleep, gasping for his every breath and it is getting more severe by each day. In the past, his condition has been so serious that he was admitted in the ICU for days and there have been times when I almost lost him too. So I fear to sleep at night, thinking I might lose my son if I do.” -Ashwini, mother

Shaurya in the ICU battling for his life

He needs surgery to live a normal life

Shaurya is currently on steroids and he needs to undergo a Thymus gland removal surgery at the earliest. Without the surgery, his condition will turn fatal in no time.

“The steroids are keeping him alive but not for very long. He is getting weaker by the day and without a surgery soon, doctors say that he will not make it. He needs the surgery to live a normal life, a life without all this suffering. But the cost is way beyond my means. As a parent, I should be able to protect him and give him all the happiness in the world but I am unable to do anything, I am unable to save my little child and the inability to save him is killing me. If something happens to him, I will never be able to forgive myself.” -Ashok, father

Just a milkman earning from hand to mouth

Ashok is a milkman, he delivered milk from door to door and earns around Rs4000 rupees a month. An amount that is barely even enough to put the food on the table. To keep the treatment going, he borrowed from his friends and took loans but now the matter is out of his hands. He needs your help to save his son. Only you can save Shaurya by contributing.
