Raghunandan is 6 years old, but he does not look like other children his age because he has Thalassemia. He was diagnosed at 6 months, and has been receiving blood transfusions ever since to keep his hemoglobin levels up. For 6 years, Raghunandan's body has been surviving on transfusion. His growth is stunted and he is prone to infections. It is just a temporary fix which comes with its own list of side-effects.
This child is now going to school. He needs a permanent cure lest he loses his life to the disease. Raghunandan needs a bone marrow transplant at the earliest. His father has been working hard to arrange for the funds, but owing to his financial background, he is unable to come up with the amount.
