"I am sorry that you have to suffer and struggle because of me. I am praying to God to give me strength and cure me. I promise I will get better." - Mijanur

Every day, 15-year-old Mijanur watches his parents worry and he feels guilty for being sick. He takes his medicines religiously and prays to God to take his illness away. He suffers from chronic liver disease - his liver is failing and the only way to save him is a liver transplant that will cost 21 lakh rupees, but his poor parents cannot afford it.

In just a few days, their world came crashing down

Being an only child, Mijanur is everything to these parents and when his illness was diagnosed, their world came crashing down. Within just a few days, their child went from active and healthy to bedridden.

"He had a high fever and was vomiting frequently. We thought it must be food poisoning and we took him to the hospital. Looking at my child's eyes, the doctors suspected jaundice and sent us to a bigger hospital. But, once the test reports came back, they said something entirely different. I just couldn't understand it. How can my child's liver fail all of a sudden? He was perfectly fine a week ago..." - Alhaya, mother

His condition is getting critical with each passing day

Mijanur's stomach and legs are swollen while the rest of his body is extremely thin. He doesn't have the strength to get out of bed and finds it very painful to move even an inch. His condition is getting critical with each passing day. He needs the transplant at the earliest to survive.

"All my friends will be in a higher class than me as I had to leave school this year. But it's okay. I just want to go back home and do all the things I used to. I feel frustrated that I am unable to help my parents and that they have to go through all of this. Once I get better, I will study hard and become a professor. I will take care of my parents and they will never have to worry about anything again." - Mijanur

Running the house on 180 rupees a day

Mukeshwar works at a small watch shop in his village. Every day he returns home with 180 rupees in his hand for the labour he does. But it is barely enough to put food on the table, let alone anything else. Affording this transplant is beyond his means.

"Till now, it was only because of my kind friends and relatives that I was able to keep my son alive. Otherwise, I wouldn't have been able to afford even the basic medicines for my child. But the transplant is way costlier than any treatment so far. Everything is set for the surgery, all tests are done and my wife is a perfect match for the donor too. All we need are funds and I am afraid I will lose him because of my incapability. Please help me save him. He is all we have!" -Mukeshwar
