    Master Tanishq

    from New Delhi, Delhi

“My husband and I had vowed to give our children the best life that we possibly could. We didn’t want them to grow up like we did. But now as I sit by my son's hospital bed, I feel anxious and scared at the thought that something terrible may happen to him. I can’t lose my baby boy...” - Laxmi, mother.

His temperature soared and body turned blue

It all started a month ago when 1-year-old Tanishq ran a high fever that wouldn’t subside. Just days later, his body began to turn blue and would have seizures, where he would tremble uncontrollably and then go completely slack.

“It was the most terrifying thing I have ever experienced, as a parent. He would suddenly get fits, and fall unconscious. We rushed him to a local hospital, where we learned that he had severe dengue fever. He’s been here for 15 days now, and the doctor said since he’s a bit on the weaker side, the infection has taken a huge physical toll on him” - Deepak, father

Tanishq was diagnosed with dengue hemorrhagic fever, a severe form of the mosquito-borne illness, that can cause serious bleeding, a sudden drop in blood pressure (shock) and even death.

He was a preterm baby, weak since birth

Tanishq was born premature, a month before the due date, through a c-section, and it wasn’t an easy delivery either. He weighed only 1 kg at birth, which required him to remain in the hospital for a month until he could be cleared to go home.

“We’ve always had to pay close attention to him, more than our daughter. At the time of his birth, the doctor told us that he was far more weak because he was born premature, and that we would need to be more careful with him. We’d always heeded those words and never neglected his health. I still don't understand how things turned out like this…”  - Laxmi

They have exhausted all their resources in the effort to save their child

Little Tanishq’s condition has been slowly improving with the medicines and treatment that he is currently undergoing. He needs continued treatment to make a full recovery, but his parents don’t have the means to meet his medical expenses.

Deepak was laid off from his government job recently, as he’d spent a lot of his days staying beside his son. These parents have used up all their savings, borrowed from family and friends and friends, to keep their son’s treatment going. Now they’ve hit a dead end.

“The doctor has told us that he has a bit of congestion in his chest and his lungs are weak. With no proper source of income, we are struggling to even get by. My child’s life is on the line and I cannot even afford his treatment! I don’t know what to do…” - Deepak

Tanishq’s treatment will cost his parents INR 8 lakhs, which is an unimaginable amount for them to bear. They are in desperate need of your help to save their little one. Your contributions can save little Tanishq's life. Click here to donate.
