    Master Abhan

    from Faridabad, Haryana

The last 15 days in Irfan and Shehruna’s life were supposed to be the happiest but if you ask the young parents, they will say it has been nothing less than a nightmare. Their baby boy, Abhan, was born 15 days ago but ever since his birth he has only known pain. Right now, he is struggling in the NICU, every single breath he is taking is causing him pain. His helpless parents don’t know what they can do to save their firstborn.

She had held him for just two hours before they took him away

A first time mother, Shehruna is inconsolable. She is weak and tired but she is also angry. She keeps blaming herself, she thinks her baby is suffering because of some fault of her own.

“The delivery has left her very weak, she can’t even walk on her own. So, even though she has been begging me to take her to meet her son, I can’t. Every time I tell her ‘no’, it breaks my heart, but what choice do I have? She has been there just once, she can’t come here regularly, ” - Irfan, father.

A premature baby with multiple problems, Abhan had surgery just 2 days ago

The little baby has several problems - his lungs are underdeveloped and he is severely underweight. He also showed symptoms of kidney problems - that’s when the doctors thought that it was time for a surgery.

“The surgery is over but my son is not yet out of danger. He can’t breathe without help, he has a severe infection. The doctors...they told me Abhan needs to stay in the hospital for over 2 months. How will I afford it?” - Irfan, father.

Paying Rs 30,000 every day for the next 2 months is impossible for Irfan

Irfan is a Uber driver and makes around Rs 9000 per month. He is the only one taking care of his family. And in the last 15 days, he has not been able to go to work. He is single-handedly taking care of his sick wife and child. His savings are over and so is the list of people he can borrow from. The moneylenders are hounding him and this desperate father doesn’t know how he can arrange for 20 lakhs to save his baby boy.

You are the only ray of hope for Irfan and Shehruna - with your help they can save their Abhan
