“My father is 70 and my mother is 65, they insist on working on the farm lands to earn that extra 200 even though they can't...they don’t have the strength in their body anymore. I don’t want my parents to go through such pain but we have absolutely no choice. How else can we save our child from cancer?” - Samadhan, father

Samadhan worked on other’s farm and earned around 200-250 a day but now, as he has to be there with Madhu, he can't even earn that anymore. Madhumati's (3) grandparents toil away in the fields to save their granddaughter, but it's not enough.

She is our only child but my hands are tied

Madhumati has blood cancer. Chemotherapy is the only thing that can cure her. Along with that she needs a lot of other supportive medications including blood transfusion but it would cost them Rs 10 lakh which is a huge amount for the poor family to afford.

She's scared and in severe pain - this once cheerful child struggles every day

I even made her kichidi, she loves kichidi but she is not eating that too. Madhumati's appetite has significantly gone down and it is very scary for the parents. Cancer is already taking a toll on her. Not eating will only add to her weakness.



Three years ago this couple gave birth to their little bundle of joy, their first baby,Madhumati. They had a small house in their village and a happy family but when suddenly Madhu had a high fever, her face and stomach started to swell, the family was in shocked and didn't know the difficulties they had ahead.

Madhu has to fight a 2 year-long battle and everyone is willing to fight with her except the fact that they don't have the money to start the treatment and save Madhu from this deadly cancer.
