Farmers are the lifeblood of our country and they are in crisis. Record-breaking heat and lack of rain in Vidharba region of Maharashtra which comprises 11 districts - Amravati, Akola, Bhandara, Buldhana, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, Gondia, Nagpur, Wardha, Washim and Yavatmal. Farmers are struggling to feed sheep, cattle and keep crops alive. The drought in Maharashtra is worsening. With 15 talukas just declared drought-hit, 136 out of a total 355 talukas in the state are now officially reeling under drought. They have received rainfall that is less than average in the state. With no rain, villages in most of the drought-hit areas are still depending on tanker water for drinking.  As summer is coming, things are getting worse every day.
Vidharbha is among the areas which have the record of highest rate of farmers committing suicides because of drought, excess burden of loans and having no money for feeding their family a two-time meal properly. Their children are working on farms instead of going to school.
Till now we have saved the life of 34 farmers giving them fund for farming, providing money for their children's education and providing water resources to them. We have raised 2.37 cr from 2008 and working to raise more for benefits for farmers. As you can contribute too.
