Premchand, 60 years old, lives in Purani Basti (Jaipur) and suffers from oral cancer. His only living kin is his mother, almost a hundred years old and partially blind.
 
Premchand is responsible for his mother at this late stage of her life. He's all the family she has got left. The mother-son pair suffer terribly as Premchand is not in a condition to work and earn a living. Paying rent of the room they reside in is a daily struggle. Sustenance is a daily struggle.
