Baby Bharath is only 10 months old, but he has already suffered a lifetime of pain. He was diagnosed with an extremely rare disease called protein C deficiency, which increases the risk of developing abnormal blood clots. This can then cause a life-threatening blockage of blood flow known as a pulmonary embolism, if not treated urgently.
In addition, low protein C levels are highly indicative of abnormal liver function. The only way Bharath can be permanently cured is through a liver transplant.

Ever since his birth, baby Bharath has been ‘normal’ for only the first four days. From the fifth day onwards, he started suffering from unnatural bleeding and high fevers which have made his life hell now. He must be rushed to the hospital when his condition worsens, and nothing can stop the bleeding. This has taken a toll on the child – mentally and physically.“He is irritable all day.
