    Baby of Vijaya

    from Hyderabad, Telangana

Lingaiah and Vijaya sold the only house they had to save their 2-month-old baby. They had no other option, but even that wasn’t enough. Now they live on an abandoned land near the streets, and have made a temporary shelter for themselves. The rains have been ruthless, but they have nowhere else to go. With a sick child in his arms, Lingaiah prays every day that somehow his baby survives this.

“I bought some black tarpaulin sheets and made a tent with them. I sold my house and whatever little gold we had. I don’t know what else to do to save our son…he needs a liver transplant before it’s too late, but I have nothing. I’m losing all hope.” - Lingaiah

His entire body has turned yellow - a dangerous sign

Just after 1 month of his birth, Vijaya and Lingaiah's baby was diagnosed with liver disease. It all happened so suddenly. His entire body turned yellow and since then Lingaiah has done everything he could to save his child. The past month has been the most difficult for these parents. Now, their baby is very critical and only a liver transplant can save him.

When I look into my son’s eyes, they are yellow too along with his entire body. He must be in pain, he can’t speak but he cries all night and doesn’t sleep much. I want him to be okay. I just want him to smile at me once.”  - Vijaya

He should be in the hospital now, but I can't afford to keep him there for even a day

Lingaiah is a daily wage labour who earns only Rs. 200 per day. Arranging 18 lakhs for a liver transplant is impossible for him. Now without proper shelter and without money to even feed his family, he is struggling.

"The doctors said he need to be ICU but I can't afford it. So, I brought him back to our village. Here also he is not safe in this tent. It's raining so much, the weather is so bad...everyone is falling sick. His health can get worse but what should I do tell me."- Lingaiah

I know my baby is in a critical  situation but the money I got from selling my house...it's all gone. I don’t have anything now to save my baby. The cost is way too high for us to afford anymore. I am just...broken, I don’t have the strength to continue anymore but I don’t want to lose him.” - Lingaiah

Lingaiah and Vijaya have a beautiful 3 year old daughter too but the future of both their kids is in danger. They can't afford anything anymore. Your help can save their 2-month-old and give them hope to go back to their normal life.
