    This fundraiser will benefit

    child of Sachin

    from Pune, Maharashtra

“I will educate my daughter. I just need her to survive. I will make her very capable so she never has to see this day I am living. It breaks me to not have money to save my baby girl. She’s come to us after years of trying and I cannot lose her.” - Sachin, father

Sheetal finally became pregnant after 7 years of trying to conceive

Sachin and Sheetal really wanted a baby as soon as they got married. They had a tough time and tried every door – from doctors to astrologers. When they found out they were pregnant after 7 years, almost giving up hope, their happiness knew no bounds.

My father died when I was 2 years old. I have no recollection of who he was, or how he was. I never knew him and as a young boy, my dream was to become a father. We took many years to conceive and finally after 7 years of marriage, we had a beautiful baby girl.”

Sheetal had a difficult pregnancy with a lot of nausea, dizziness and pain. She gave birth to their daughter pre-term at 7 months. Their baby has been in the ICU and needs prolonged care to be healthy enough to be taken home.

“My joy at having a child aside, its painful to see I cannot fulfil my first duty as a father. I do not have the capability of making enough money for her to get the care she needs. I wish I had got more education or more skills. I feel so frustrated with myself.”

His 60-year-old mother and he are the only earning members of the family

My mother and I work very hard but still make only Rs 7000 a month. When our baby was born early, I told Sheetal, that whatever happens- I will give this child every I couldn’t get. I will find a way for her to live, I will find a way to make her study and be self-sufficient."

Sachin was brought up single-handedly by his mother, Chandra. He has no other siblings. For as long as he can remember, his mother has worked in a field every day for 8 hours. She makes Rs 100 a day. At 60 years old, she is the only one bringing in a stable monthly income. Sheetal is a housewife. Sachin, himself does odd freelance jobs around farms and makes anywhere between Rs 200-300 a day. Some days, nothing.

Earning only Rs 7000 a month, they need 3 lakhs to get their baby girl the care she needs to be healthy

“My daughter is very tiny. I get so scared to hold her. I get scared every moment of losing her. I am a poor and honest man. I know whatever help I get, I will ensure I work hard to make my daughter successful in life and every rupee contributed will make a difference.”

Sachin needs around 3 lakhs for his pre-term baby girl to survive under supervision in the hospital. He has absolutely no source of income that would support this. Your contribution will go a long way to help Sachin and Sheetal keep their only child alive.
