    Baby Bandhan Mal

    from Bengaluru, Karnataka

Tankim’s 4-month-old baby boy can’t see from one of his eyes. A growing tumour has taken away his eyesight partially, it will make him completely blind if the baby doesn’t get treated in time.

“A disease took away my left eye’s vision and then it shut down slowly. I know what it feels to be unable to see. It is not just a physical problem, it breaks you from inside. I don’t want that life for my son. I want to save him,” - Tankim, father.

A year ago, Tankim and his wife, Chuni, lost their first-born to a similar kind of cancerous tumour in his eyes. He was just 2 then. The parents did everything in their capacity to save their son but they weren’t able to. Now, his 4-month-old has two other tumours growing in his eyes that will slowly make him completely blind.

The day, Tankim noticed a slight grey in Bandhan’s eyes, he got scared.

Their daughter too has the same disease

When the local doctors had given up, he gathered all his money and came to Bangalore. It's been a month they are in the hospital - Chuni, Tankim and their twins.

“My daughter too has the same problem, but doctors have said that she has some time. But Bandhan doesn’t even that much time. He needs the surgery as soon as possible. Or else he will lose his eyesight forever,” - Chuni, mother.

A daily wager by profession, Tankim knows he can’t afford to save his son - he needs your help

Tankim used to work as a daily wager in a remote village in West Bengal. He is the only earning member of his family of 6. He needs 10 lakhs for the surgery but he hardly has anything left with him now. Besides regular medicine and daily essentials, he pays Rs 600 as rent for the place they have taken near the hospital.

“I know the cost of the surgery is beyond my means, but does that mean I will not want to save my son? I am looking for jobs even in Bangalore, because my wife and mother-in-law don’t speak Hindi. I need to be with them. I feel very helpless,” - Tankim.

With your generous help, these desperate parents will be able to save their baby boy
