    This fundraiser will benefit

    Arnab Sarkar

    from Kolkata, West Bengal

“He is our only child, but I can’t spend as much time with him as I want. I work day and night so that I can give him a better life than I had. I cherish the time I get to spend with him, playing, carrying him on my back. To him I’m his car, elephant, superhero…anything he wants me to be. His smile makes everything worth it. But now our baby is in the ICU, and all he can do is stare at us helplessly. He can’t talk or breathe one his own." - Kajal, Father.

Within days, baby Arnab's cough turned into severe infections

Baby Arnab had recurrent cold and cough from his birth but it would get better after taking medicines. Last month, when he got cough his parents thought it would subside but it only got worse and they took him to a hospital when he got high fever. He was admitted to a local hospital for a week. When his condition only worsened, the doctors asked them to take him to a hospital in Kolkata.

"He was taken to the ICU as soon as we reached and placed on ventilator support. Ever since then, I haven’t left his side. Sometimes I fall asleep sitting here, just for a few seconds. We’re tired, we haven’t gone home and we hardly eat. But it’s nothing compared to what our son is going through. We will do anything to save him.” - Moushami, Mother.

His parents don't leave his side, they are waiting to take him back home

Baby Arnab suffers from Adenovirus, it is a group of viruses that causes severe pneumonia and life-threatening infections. He is given a high dosage of antibiotics every day to fight the infections and he is not out of the ventilator support yet. It's been 16 days. He needs to continue treatment for the next 2 weeks.

"All we want is to see him smile. My wife is inconsolable watching him suffer like this, she can't help but breakdown. I'm trying my best to stay strong, to try and do everything possible to continue his treatment. But it's not enough. I've exhausted everything in starting his treatment. I can't save my son on my own," - Kajal, father

He needs 3 lakh to continue the treatment and he has unpaid bills. The poor parents live in constant fear of losing their only child and without your help, their worst nightmares will come true.
