    Anshi shukla

    from Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh

“Though our life was not great, we were always content with what we had. But after my daughter got diagnosed with a blood disease, everything turned upside down. My husband abandoned us to deal with it on our own, and doesn’t even bother to call or check up on our daughter who is fighting to survive every minute of her life.”
- Bhawna, mother

She would faint while doing the smallest activities

3 months ago, 9-year-old Anshi suffered from recurrent fever, which settled after a few days. But then, her mother started to notice visible spots all over her body. Even a small fall would leave a green patch on her skin and local doctors couldn’t figure out what it was. Within a few weeks, things escalated and the little girl started fainting at odd places with no specific cause. Her mother rushed her to a bigger hospital where she underwent blood transfusion for hours as her hemoglobin levels had dropped.

She fell unconscious while laughing and watching T.V, while listening to songs, and while she had been cycling too. I just couldn’t tale another ‘it’s nothing, she’ll be fine’. Clearly, something was wrong. But I never thought it would be something that would threaten to take my child away from me.” - Bhawna

She needs a transplant to survive

9-year-old Anshi suffers from Severe Acute Anemia, a serious blood disorder. She needs a bone marrow transplant to survive. However, with no support from her husband or his family, her mother is single-handedly striving to save her.

“As soon as my husband learned about our daughter’s disease, he started getting a little distant. Initially, he would accompany us everywhere. But when the doctors told us that the bone marrow transplant is her only treatment option and how much the procedure would cost, he just left us. It’s just me and my parents now, and no matter how much we try, we are failing to afford it.” - Bhawna

Time is running out, only you can help

Anshi is Bhawna’s only daughter and she is running pillar to post in search of funds. However, INR 23.5 lakhs is something she will never be able to arrange on her own. Anshi needs to get the transplant at the earliest as she is constantly feeling dizzy and she needs transfusions more often than before.

“The longer the delay, the weaker my child will get. But due to my inability to afford the cost, I am struggling to save my daughter from this misery. I want to see her happy face again, I want to see her play and grow, I want her to live a long and happy life...” - Bhawna
