Why am I fundraising?

Janani Eswar is an incubatee in ArtyPlantz Nature Revitalisation Private Limited. Her single mission is to connect children to nature. She is on a mission to enable children in government schools, who have very little facility in their schools to connect to nature, to do so in innovative ways. Her work will involve taking children outdoors and sensitising their minds and senses to Nature and in the process making them into leaders of society who will help with taking on important roles in soceity with a balanced and compassionate mind set.

These children have a great need for adults and mentors around them to help them Empathise with and Love Nature. Already, her work is impacting over 200 children in various schools over Bangalore, regularly! If we were to join hands with her, she could do so much more. Your contribution will help this enthusiastic 20 year old create two pilot projects to showcase how nature is an essential, beautiful part of a school's system and how it can be integrated in, no matter where you are.

What do I plan to do with the funds?

The funds will be used to enable Nature Connect events take place in 2 government schools for a year. Materials, garden equipments, transport for travel, compensation for naturalists who will help Janani conduct the events. The events would be conducted once a week for a year. Any excess funds will enable more of these projects.

"You wouldn't expect a plant to grow well under a rock, or a pup to grow healthily in a cage. How can we expect our children to grow on a bare desktop?"

Why this is a "Pilot Project":

Janani and her team are looking at training promising children from this project to become Social entreprenuers and Nature Connection facilitators. They are looking at multiple ways to make this project self sustaining and in fact capital building for future schools to benefit from. To start with, your contribution will help greatly.
