My name is Iram Fatima and I am here to present the story of my friend Madhavi and her husband Puttaraj. We have been neighbours and friends for the past 17 years, our kids are of similar ages and life pretty much was the same episodes of ups and downs as it is for all of us until they faced a very challenging health crisis. Pls read on as Madhavi shares her life story, 

Respected all, I am Madhavi, here to tell my story, ours is a small family having 2 lovely children Pallavi and Dhanush. I had always thought the role of the husband in a family is like that of the main pillar, that held the building together. My husband Mr.Puttraj now aged 50yrs was in the Real estate business, doing reasonably well for himself and keeping us comfortable in every way. But our life suddenly and drastically changed when we realised that our pillar of strength my husband was in danger, this danger manifested itself to us, when he was diagnosed with CHRONIC KIDNEY DISEASE.  From the year 2013 till 2015 he was under medical treatment at Apollo Hospital, Bannerghatta Rd by Dr.Sathish. The doctor made us realize his situation and prepared us well for future preparation & treatments that were required like getting the Fistula done, so he would be ready for Dialysis whenever it was required.We had 2 options 1. Dialysis  2. Kidney Transplantation. 

We accepted the situation where we stood. Luckily by the time we reached the dialysis stage, we received Rs.10,00,000 as his business receivables. Naturally we planned for transplantation with me as a live donor, he started dialysis and we were well on course with our plan.In the pre check for transplantation stage, we realised my blood group was getting Mismatched, it happened twice, still we were having hopes that may be in the next test it may get matched (chances were there). Meanwhile in his check-ups, we found he had blocks in his heart and we needed to go for Angioplasty as soon as possible. He has 2 stents and our plan of transplantation was again delayed by 6 months. In the mean time we continued to spend our funds on regular check ups and dialysis which cannot be stopped at any cost. Once we had got to know about his angioplasty and the time period, we immediately registered his name at ZCCK for organ requirement. At this point I needed to take over the lead role and I started to work as funds were depleting fast. From the past 4 yrs he has been undergoing dialysis, and 6 times he needed to be hospitalized for different health complications, which generally occur with chronic kidney disease patients. We have spent nearly Rs 20,00,000 till now.

The good news now is that he is 4th in the list eligible as a recipient for organ transplant. But now we are with bare hands. Simply saying all our funds are exhausted.  Every drop makes an ocean. My need is like a glass of water for his treatment, for which I am trying every month adding one drop at a time, and it is getting evaporated by the name of DIALYSIS which can never be stopped. Here I'm requesting you to help me fill that glass of water, which can make my husband lead a normal life like you and me and my family can have the opportunity to breathe easy.The glass of water costs Rs.15,00,000 (it includes surgery and planning for 5-6 months of medication which can’t be stopped for life time), after that God willing I will do my best to take care of the rest of the expenses needed for a life time for him.
