Why am I fundraising?

We are fundraising to establish two libraries in the Sankhu and Khuddi of district Churu in the State of Rajasthan, India. These libraries will be provide a wider exposure to these communities to connect with world and for holistic / integrated development. 

In detail -

I am working with Gandhi fellowship as fellow at Churu,Rajasthan. There are few people in the village Sankhu and Khuddi who are educated. As because of this the environment of the village is not favorable for education. So after returning from school kids are unable to study at their house and their family members do not bother about it.

That is why I like to establish a community library at Sankhu and Khuddi, village of 5000 and 3500 population respectively.  where kids along with community member can read in a free fair environment. Gradually this practice will come in their habit leading to build awareness about it for future generation.

Proposed Action plan

First of all, I have to organize a school staff meeting for the set up a Library at the community. The discussion would be on the points that what to discuss with community to set up library at village.  Secondly, a Reading Mela would be organized at village for the community of Sankhu and Khuddi respectively. Thirdly, a community meeting would be organized to impart the values and benefit of using library. Fourthly, a campaign for the fund raising to set up library at community to increase their ownership. Fifthly, as per their (community) needs, a list of books would be short out to keep at library. Sixthly, after establishment of library at community, there should be a book keeping of library to maintain the books record.

What do I plan to do with the funds?

I want to established community library for deprived section of the community in two villages sankhu and khuddi. My estimate budget Rs. 27,000 for books and Rs.18,000 for table chair, Rs 2000 for 2 fan + 1 tubelight, and Rs. 2,000 for Print rich wall.Total ammont Rs.50,000.
