    This fundraiser will benefit

    Vishal

    from Hyderabad, Telangana

Vishal isn’t like any other baby you might know. He doesn’t look at you in wonder when you talk to him, he doesn’t smile and he doesn’t even crawl. How can he, when even a slight brush against his painfully swollen stomach sends a shooting pain through his entire body? If he turns onto his stomach, it can kill him. His shrivelled arms, his yellow eyes and all the sleepless nights he spends crying are all dangerous signs. Vishal isn’t like any other baby you might know because he has only 5 days left to live.

“Everyone knows he’s sick, but only when they come to see us do they realise just how sick he is. You see the veins on his stomach? Everyone is scared of that, it’s like it might explode any minute. Relatives have given up, but we still have 5 days. We still have hope if we get help.” – Anil, father

Imagine being told your newborn is living on borrowed time

Being a parent is difficult. Even more so when you’re told your child is living on borrowed time. Vishal is Anil and Shravanthi’s only child. He has a severe liver disease and now needs a liver transplant at the earliest to survive. Vishal is only 11-months-old and has been suffering since birth.

“My sister once told me that when you hold your baby in your arms for the first time, nothing else matters. And she was right. No one matters more than my baby. The first day I held him, everything was perfect. Now you can see the pain he’s in…I can’t carry him for long, I can’t leave him on the bed for long. There’s not a moment when he’s not crying.” - Shravanthi, mother

Amidst pain and sorrow, they have found hope – but not help

The last two months have been nothing short of hell for Anil and Shravanthi, but to them, it’s nothing compared to what their baby is going through. Anil works in a small store in Hyderabad and earns Rs. 8,000. But he hasn’t been able to go for work in weeks now. He spends his time running to everyone for help.

“Two days ago, we got a little bit of hope. My wife can donate her liver to save our son, but we were also told he has only one week for the transplant. Relatives see no point in helping us, I've asked everyone… 2 days have gone by in all of this. Now I have just 5 days to save my son.”

How your contribution will help this baby

With this day almost ending, Baby Vishal would’ve gone another day without the life-saving transplant. That’s one more day in excruciating pain, one more day closer to his parents worst nightmare. You can save baby Vishal’s life before it’s too late.
