Shobha and her husband gave birth to a newborn baby but what should have been a joyous occasion for them turned into a nightmare when they found out that their baby was born premature and needs to remain in the ICU for atleast a month.
Shobha was few days shy of completing 8-months pf pregnancy when she had to get an emergency C-section to protect her newborn. The blood flow through her umbilical cord had reversed, thereby putting the life of her yet-to-be-born baby in serious jeopardy.

"We are waiting to bring him home, cradle him in our arms and call him by his name. Our baby is brave, and I am positive that he will come out of this ordeal. We just have to help him a little," says Shobha.
Shobha hasnt got the chance to take her baby home yet and is worried that she may lose her baby if it does not get the treatment. The total cost of the treatment is around 5 lakh Rs.
They cannot afford the treatment required to save their son.
Unfortunately, this amount is far too high for them to afford and they need our help to save their baby. Belonging to a weak financial background, the couple is struggling to arrange for the funds required to save their newborn alive. Shobha is a nurse and makes Rs 9,000 per month. Her husband, Anantara is a cab driver.
"We don't have anyone in our family who can help us financially. I don't know who to ask for help anymore. We've spent everything we had but the baby's treatment is not even half done. I don't know how we will complete the treatment,” Sobha says.
