    Ayansh Sankhe

    from Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra

“It’s a rare sight to see him not crying. He has hardly slept peacefuly and cries uncontrollably. I don't move away from him even for a minute because in just a blink of an eye he'll be curled up in a pool of blood. He throws up blood so much that everytime he does it , my body trembles with the fear of losing him. Doctors say that he has 3 different liver disorders and  he can survive only if he gets a liver transplant by this week." - Nikita, Mother of 2-year-old Ayansh.

Ayansh’s failing liver has robbed him of the simplest joy of playing with toys

Nikita’s happiness knew no bounds when she held her healthy baby for the first time. Nikita and Ankush had set a room full with toys for Ayansh. But sadly, the little boy has no energy to even play. It is heartbreaking for his parents to see him in pain all the time.

“He was just 2 months old when his jaundice was diagnosed. The doctors immediately told us something is severely wrong because it was very unlikely that a child has jaundice for more than 2 months. Very soon he started vomiting blood. He was bleeding from his nose and had blood in his stools too. We were horrified. All we knew is that he needs to be saved.”

Even the life-saving stent that is placed in his liver is blocked with blood clots

Ayansh has a chronic liver disorder which includes first stage liver cirrhosis. His liver condition doesn’t allow proper blood circulation. His liver is so weak that it can’t handle the blood pressure and as a result, he throws out blood from everywhere. Now, his stomach is swollen too. His parents have tried several doctors and different treatment. The only thing that can save him now is a liver transplant.
“Last year my baby started vomiting blood profusely. We were scared that it would be the last day of his life. He kept crying and vomiting simultaneously. Doctors immediately put a stent (a tube) to his liver to make him better but right now we are more terrified than ever. His stent is blocked with blood clots. We can’t even imagine the pain he is going through. It tears me apart to see him like this.

Even after 2 years of exhaustion, the parents are struggling to do everything to save their baby

Little Ayansh can neither eat nor sleep peacefully. He cries without any breaks. He doesn’t want to move from his mother’s lap at all. Initially, he used to play a little, now he doesn’t even want to do that. The room full of toys continues to remain untouched.

“These 2 years have drained us emotionally. I had to quit my job when Ayansh fell sick. This is our only chance to save our baby. Ankush and I will leave no stone unturned just to ensure that our baby lives. We have prepared ourselves mentally to handle this. For us, giving up is unimaginable."

Ayansh's condition might turn fatal any moment without urgent treatment

Ankush earned enough to give his family a decent life. He has spent Rs 15 lakhs over a span of 2 years, excluding monthly medicines cost. This has left them exhausted beyond words. They travel for 3 hours to reach the hospital. Ankush and Nikita are left with no option but to beg and borrow to save their son's life.

How you can help

2-year-old Ayansh is struggling with multiple liver disorders and is living with terrible pain He needs a liver transplant in 6 days. Nikita is a matching donor for him. The only thing standing in the way of the treatment is the money. The cost required to save him now is Rs 16.5 lakhs and his parents have nothing left to save him.
