It was Saptami, the second day of Durga Puja in Kolkata. For these five days the city comes alive to welcomes goddess Durga, it’s a time of devotion and usually time for fun and revelry for youngsters. That night my cousin Anirban was out visiting Puja Pandals along with his friend and then tragedy stuck. Anirban motorcycle hit a speed breaker in an ill lit stretch of road.
He sustained multiple injuries including head injury and multiple facial fractures, please refer hospitals prognosis (TRA General Hospital Kolkata) attached with the fund raiser.

Anirban’s family is not well to do and even after exhausting all means (including selling Jewellery and loan) Anirban’s family did not have the means to meet all required required expenses. We were able to meet additional first round of expenses using funds collected from family, friends and well wishes.

However we still need around 3.5 Lacs more towards meeting remaining surgery expenses and recovery. Anirban is just 23 years old and he needs to get the surgeries done in time … to carry on with his life.

Anirban is also the only permanent earning member of the family and the situation has added to their financial woes.
