The number of child deaths due to malnutrition has sharply increased over recent months. Over 200 hundred children have died of severe acute malnutrition since April this year. Worse still, around 18,000 children have died in Maharashtra in the last one year due to acute malnutrition.
Sensitizing the government front line workers on the early signs of malnutrition in PalgharFight Hunger Foundation is an NGO registered under section 25 of the Companies Act in Mumbai. They have been at the forefront of responding to the crisis and have set up a field office in Palghar, where their expert team is working round the clock to detect and treat malnutrition and save the lives of the children in danger.

Their goal is to save the lives of 1,800 children suffering from severe malnutrition by providing them with therapeutic treatment. Equally important is the activity of screening of over 5000 children to ensure they get timely treatment and are referred to the local health centers.
The situation of children in Palghar is serious. We urgently need your help to reach as many children as possible – we cannot let any more children die of hunger.
