As you may have seen recently in the news, a severe malnutrition crisis has hit the tribal district of Palghar, in Maharashtra. The number of child deaths due to malnutrition has sharply increased over recent months. Over 200 hundred children have died of severe acute malnutrition since April this year. Worse still, around 18,000 children have died in Maharashtra in the last one year due to acute malnutrition.
Sensitising the government front line workers on the early signs of malnutrition in PalgharFight Hunger Foundation is an NGO registered under section 25 of the Companies Act in Mumbai. We have been responding to the crisis and have set up a field office in Palghar, where our expert team is working round the clock to detect and treat malnutrition and save the lives of the children in danger.

Our goal is to save the lives of 1,800 children suffering from severe malnutrition by providing them with therapeutic treatment. Equally important is our activity of screening of over 5000 children to ensure they get timely treatment and are referred to the local health centers.
