About WSDS
WSDS-initiate (Weaker Section Development Society - initiate), established in 1989 in north-eastern India, provides need-based, affordable financial services to empower marginalized women in the region. WSDS-initiate provides loans to these women for enterprise development and other productive needs. Its loan-delivery is flexible and tailored to suit borrowers by market segment, location, and activities. Milaap partners with WSDS-initiate to provide affordable enterprise development loans to these women entrepreneurs, so they can earn more and provide their children a better future. Milaap loans also allow these women to buy solar lighting and increase productivity past sunset with a clean, cheap light source.
