Debojyoti always believed in living life king-size and his departure was peaceful. He's in a happy place with so many people he loves. The last few weeks have been trying for Jhalfrezi, my Ma and me to say the least but there are so many people who have been with me through this all.

My incredible team, my entire office, my family and friends from near and far, and acquaintances who are now family. The team at Artemis Hospital, your support will never be forgotten.

Dear All,

Thank you for the overwhelming love and support that you have shown towards Debojyoti. It’s been more than three weeks since Debojyoti was hospitalised at Artemis Hospital, Gurgaon. As you know, he suffered a brain haemorrhage and underwent immediate surgery. And has since then been battling for his life in the ICU.

It has been a difficult period for his family and friends, particularly for his wife Kamalinee. But the widespread support and the extremely generous and swift response to the call for financial assistance has been simply overwhelming. No words can fully express the gratitude we feel. Thank you for being there with Debojyoti in his hour of need.

Debojyoti is fighting hard to recover from the stroke. And we need to do everything we can to help him get back on his feet.

We are starting a fresh round of contributions to meet the mounting hospitalisation expenses through Milaap. We do hope you will generously contribute and also help us spread the word among his long list of well-wishers.

This fresh round will help replenish the earlier kitty of Rs 20 lakh and also provide a sufficient buffer for what looks like a long drawn battle.

In these past few weeks, Debojyoti’s progress has been slow and gradual. After an initial stay in the ICU, he was shifted to the HDU and then to the ward. However, due to respiratory distress, he was shifted back to the ICU. In the past week or so, he has had to undergo regular sessions of dialysis and this will continue in the days to come. Efforts are on to heal the multiple organs that have been affected. A team of doctors are trying their best to stabilise his bodily functions.

Given that it isn’t clear how long he’d have to stay in the hospital, we are making every effort to raise additional funds for his treatment. Plus, we are also aware that the post hospitalisation expenses at home will be onerous as well. Keeping all this in mind, we are raising the target from Rs 20 lacs to Rs 45 lacs.
