As a child, report cards were the bane of my existence. Every letter grade felt like a judgment, a label that defined me. Yet, standing here decades later, I can't help but see the irony. Today, my team and I at Meraki champion systemic report cards, not for students, but for the very infrastructure that shapes their early lives: Anganwadis. On that path, we got a big shot in the arm, this past week that I wanted to share with you.

On 24th January, the Uttarakhand government, led by Chief Minister Sh. Pushkar Singh Dhami, made a profound commitment to these systemic report cards, via Meraki’s Parivartan Portal, with the objective of creating world-class Anganwadi Centers, consistent with the central governments mandate of Poshan 2.0 and Saksham Anganwadi scheme.

Parivartan is a revolutionary Govtech platform that helps the state governments assess, manage and upgrade Anganwadi infrastructure; all of 20,067 Anganwadis, in Uttarakhand’s case.  It equips Anganwadi workers with necessary infrastructure to improve childcare quality, ensuring compliance with vital programs. Real-time, ground-up data guides ICDS resource allocation, streamlining operations, fostering intra and inter-departmental coordination and transparency. This transparency fosters accountability, ensuring government funds reach their intended purpose –  the holistic development of millions of children.

In short, Parivartan isn’t just a report card but a promise. A promise of 20,000+ Anganwadis across Uttarakhand transformed into – safe, engaging, vibrant havens where laughter fills its environment like all spaces building our future should. A promise of a brighter future built one upgraded Anganwadi at a time. That's a report card I can get behind.

Wouldn’t you too?

Hello Friends and Family of Meraki,

Light Your Social Impact Fire

It's 31st March (almost): Most of us are, at this time, busy finishing tax related tasks, or busy planning for next financial year investments, expenditures etc.

Have you ever though about or planned for social impact investments, expenditures (not just money but time)? Don't know what that could look like? Let us help kickstart your social impact journey for next year. Why? Because we think we can add value to your 2023-24. How?

As financial year, 2022-23 came to a close, we wanted to leave you with a sneak peak of what you've made possible. Just this month: 60,000 parents, 75000 children from rural/urban slum communities came together to understand the importance of cognitive development via बौद्धिक दिवस that was celebrated across Anganwadis in Uttarakhand. Take a pause and let the impact (of your support) sink in. We close the last update of 2022/23 with a montage video of the event.

Here's how that went.

Hello Friends and Family of Meraki,

We are elated to share that Meraki’s digital parent margdarshak program (DPMP) has been awarded a silver medal under Education’s Community Engagement category at New York Based Anthem Awards this year.

We couldn’t be more thrilled to share the stage with the likes of Michelle Obama’s ‘When we all vote’ initiative that won a gold under Human & Civil Rights category, Sir David Attenborough's the Green Planet; & lifetime achievement for world renowned journalist and social activist Gloria Steinem’s work on furthering the cause of feminism over decades.

We want to take this time to thank you for the support you've extended to us this past year. This achievement, wouldn't have been possible without you; really.

Here’s the announcement: https://www.anthemawards.com/winners/list/entry/#!education-art-culture/community-engagement/making-india-school-ready/1980/30619/392139

This win is as much yours, as it is ours. :)

Warmly,
Team Meraki
