Dear Supporters,

I'm Archana Karthik, daughter of late Kastur Karande.

I'm sorry for the slight delay in updating you about the current situation.

My mother passed away at 4 pm on Sunday, 7 May, 2017 after putting up a brave fight for 9 days.

I’d like to believe she’s in a much better place now, away from all the suffering and pain.

Your wishes, prayers, love and support went a long way in helping us be stronger and focus fully on her treatment.

I want to personally thank you for your contribution.

The thing is we have not utilised even a rupee of the funds yet. After speaking to the Milaap team, here’s how we could proceed with the funds raised so far.

1. You can request for a refund by replying to this email within 7 days. Milaap team will initiate the same. Also, just a heads up, it usually takes 9-10 days for the funds to reflect in your bank account. 
2. We can create a welfare fund in the memory of my mother which can help a person in urgent need. We will keep you posted about the beneficiary case and Milaap will regularly update about their progress. Here's a campaign where surplus funds were used to support another child in need. (Refer to the update posted on 28th September 2016) 

The choice is yours. I request you to please let us know by replying to this email.

We feel involving you in this decision is the right and sensible thing to do.

I request you to please let us know your decision by sending your reply to akthoughtful@gmail.com and marking a copy to (campaign organiser's id).

Dear Supporters,

We have some unfortunate news to share. Sanjay's sister Archana informed us today that their mother Kastur Karande passed away yesterday evening.

Our hearts go out to this mother who endured so much pain and fought so hard for her life. Sanjay will soon post an update with more details.

Sanjay is thankful for all the care and support that you have shown to Kastur. It has been extremely tough on the entire family. We hope that they find strength in this time of grief. May Kastur's soul find peace. Please keep the family in your prayers.
