Meet Basanti who is striving hard for her daughter's education

A few days back I had been to a small a village known as Tirinath Basti in Surya Nagar area of Bhuvaneshwar to meet Basanti who is the mother of Gayatri Samal. The woman sitting second from left in the picture is Basanti. She is a member of OM Shanti JLG (Joint Liability Group). Almost three months back she had taken educational loan from Milaap for education of her daughter Gayatri who studies in Bachelor of Arts program in Kamala Nehru Women’s College, Bhubaneswar. The loan was required to pay for the tuition fees and computer course. Basanti makes phenyl and dish washing liquid at her house and sell that in the local market. Her husband is a kitchen man in a nearby school. Without Milaap loan it would have been pretty difficult for her to get her daughter enrolled in the college. She had a very good experience with Milaap and its field partner and is quite happy with the loan. She expects that in future based on her timely repayment record she would be able to avail loans of more amounts towards the education of her children.xfvgdfjh
