"Once I Saved A 2.5 Years Old Baby Who Was Brutally Raped, I Got Her Treated And She Had To Have 9 Surgeries To Live"

It was 3:30 a.m. when I got a call about a three-month-old baby left on a haystack. The night was freezing, and stray dogs were circling her tiny, shivering body. I quickly picked her up and held her close. She was so hungry that she grabbed the roti from my hand. I brought her home, gave her a warm bath, and cleaned the insects off her. Today, that same baby is 16 years old, and seeing her happy fills my heart with joy.

Over the years, I’ve rescued many children—newborns abandoned in railway toilets, children whose parents have passed away, and others left behind with no one to care for them. My dream is to give these children a normal life, one where they feel loved and never like they are different from others. It’s not enough to give them food and shelter; I work hard to fill the emptiness in their hearts and make sure they are treated like everyone else.

One of the most painful cases I faced was a two-and-a-half-year-old girl who was brutally raped and needed nine surgeries to live. I had no money, so I sold old papers for ₹6,000 to pay for her treatment. In the early days, I had many struggles. I couldn’t pay the milkman, and sometimes we had no food. I even painted on roads and sold my artwork to continue helping the children.

Now, I am the proud mother of 120 children. Each one of them has a painful story, but they also have hope for a better life. It makes me so happy when a child who was crying and scared calls me “Mumma” within a few hours. These children deserve love, care, and a chance to dream and grow, just like any other child.

But I can’t do this alone. I only have two hands, and there is so much more to do. With your help, we can give these children the future they deserve. Please join me in this mission to give them love, hope, and a brighter tomorrow. Together, we can change their lives.
