“Hope is the only thing that is keeping my family going in this difficult situation. Sultana is the third of my four kids. She also is the naughtiest. We never imagined that we will see such a day where she is lying in the hospital weak and fighting for her life.” – Ameer Ahmed, Father

They don't have money to even buy food.
Ameer is a contract labor in a shipyard and is the sole breadwinner of the family. Ameer’s total income is about Rs 6000 a month which is not enough to even take care of his family’s expenses. In spite of all the struggles, Ameer managed to collect funds for his daughter by borrowing from everyone he knew. All the funds collected are now exhausted and they are now stranded in the hospital without money to continue Sultana’s treatment.
“We have no money to even feed our daughter properly. The hospital staff is kind enough to help us stay in the hospital. Otherwise, we would have been on the roads. Sultana is too young to understand what has happened to her and why we bought her here away from her siblings and friends. It’s very painful to know that her childhood is being lost and the next few years have to be spent in and out of the hospital.” – Sultana’s Mother.
