"He Has Never Seen His Papa, But He Can't Imagine A World Without His Voice—Please Help Save His Father."

I've been blind since birth, and my papa has always been my eyes, my guide, my protector. He held my hand through every stumble, through every fall. But now, he's slipping away, and I can't do anything to stop it. His liver has failed completely. He needs a transplant urgently, or I will lose the only world I have ever known. My sister is ready to save him, but we have no money left for the surgery.”- Karan Mishra, son of the beneficiary
Karan has known a life of darkness, but his father’s voice has always been his light. Now, that voice is fading. His father, Pintu, once a strong and respected teacher, has been battling liver failure for years, and his body is giving up. The pain is unbearable—his stomach and legs are swollen, and he can barely move. Doctors have drained litres of fluid from his body, but without a transplant, his time is running out. His daughter is ready to donate, but without funds, the surgery remains out of reach.

My father was a respected teacher, but he's been jobless for two years because of his failing health

For years, Karan’s father was a pillar of knowledge, standing tall in his classroom, shaping young minds. But illness robbed him of his strength. Diagnosed with liver cirrhosis in 2013, he fought through vomiting, bleeding, and endless hospital visits. Despite treatments in Hyderabad and Patna, his condition worsened. Two months ago, his body swelled severely, and doctors had to remove five liters of fluid. Now, bedridden, he can only leave his home for hospital visits. The teacher who once stood in front of a blackboard, guiding students, can no longer hold a pen or even walk without pain.

When I was little, every time I fell, Papa would scoop me up before I could even cry. He would pat my back and tell me, ‘I’m here, you’re safe.’ I have never seen his face, but I know his voice like the rhythm of my own heartbeat. If he leaves, I will lose that sound forever. I don’t want to live in a world where I can’t hear my Papa’s voice.”-Karan, tearfully

‘We sold everything we ever had, but it’s not enough save my father’s life’

The family has already lost so much. Karan’s mother, a homemaker, sold her jewellery, their house, and a part of their land—every asset they had—to fund her husband’s treatment. Now, they have nothing left. His father’s pension and some help from relatives barely cover daily needs. They receive government rations, but it isn’t enough. Even renting a room near the hospital for the transplant process is beyond their means. Karan's sister has stepped forward to donate her liver. She is ready to risk her life for their father. But without financial help, her sacrifice might be in vain.

We have given up everything—our home, our savings, our future—just to buy Papa more time. My sister is giving away a part of herself to save him. But what if it isn’t enough? What if we lose him because we can’t afford the cost of saving his life? Please, I beg you, help us keep our Papa with us.”- Karan
