This Little Sister Prays To God To Cure Her 11-Year Old Brother Suffering From Heart Failure

Little Parvej is coyly sitting in his hospital bed, waiting for another round of medication and tests. He is suffering from Right Heart Failure and this has been his only routine since birth. Nobody can tell he is 11 years old now because of his stunted growth. But what worries his parents the most is, losing the only chance of his recovery for not being able to afford his heart surgery.

"He hardly speaks to any of us. It feels like something is eating him up from inside because how much can a child of his age keep suffering? Even after Parvej's heart surgery at 4 years of age, he still can't walk or move without exerting himself. Even if he wants to cry his heart out, he can't do that because his heart rhythm will sink and he will be gasping for air."- Sahiba, mother

Little Parvej is restricted from even walking for more than a minute due to his poor heart condition

Parvej is currently on NYHA III which means he is restricted from doing even less than ordinary activities. Last time, just being at rest created such a complication that he had to be kept on inotropic support. The right side of his heart is severely damaged and he has to rely on medications to keep his heart pumping. But doctors fear that if his Pulmonary Valve Implantation surgery is delayed, solely medicines won't be enough to keep him alive.

His little sister cries to stay with Parvej near his bedside

Parvej's younger sister, Asmira, manages to do what no one could ever do - to get her brother to smile. She keeps asking Ammi and Abbu why her brother doesn't play with her. But they have no answers to her innocent questions except for tears. It is heartbreaking for their parents, Majid and Sahiba, to see their children growing up in the confines of a hospital when they should be playing outside.

"They are both inseparable and have an unspoken bond. Asmira has not missed any of his hospital visits because Parvej's eyes always search for her even when he is critically ill. She is just 3 but she knows what medicines Parvej has to take by seeing their colours and by chance we forget, she scolds us for not giving her bhaiya yellow or blue medicine on time. But now when I think of not being able to arrange 17 lakhs for his surgery, I'm terrified of a future where Asmira will have to grow without her doting brother around."- Majid, father

Even after a surgery, he still needs another Heart Surgery to survive

Majid and Sahiba had left no stone unturned to arrange for Parvej's surgery back in 2014. They sold their land and jewellery without thinking twice because nothing held more value than saving their son. They were overjoyed after his first surgery was successful but in a few hours when they saw Parvej falling sick again, their worst fears came true again. His urine output stopped and his blood pressure would remain dangerously high.

"Once he was sitting right across and doing his homework, suddenly his chest tightened...he was desperately trying to call me but his voice wasn't coming out. Seeing his face turn blue, I just rushed him to the hospital without informing Majid because even delay of a second would have cost us Parvej's life."- Sahiba, mother

Parvej cannot go to school because even a slightest exertion makes him short on oxygen and feverish for days. Majid is working 24*7 as a tailor while his son is at the hospital only to meet their ends somehow. He can no longer focus on his work because of the constant stress of his son being away from him. Amidst all this, he is struggling to afford more than a lakh even for his surgery. Can you help Majid and Sahiba save their innocent little son by contributing for his heart surgery ?
