My Husband Is Dying. He Needs A Liver Transplant Within A Few | Milaap

My Husband Is Dying. He Needs A Liver Transplant Within A Few Hours, Or I Will Lose Him Forever!!

The doctors have told me that time is running out. Every passing hour, his body weakens, and I can see the life slipping away from him.

This nightmare began one year back in Guwahati when my husband Nayanjyoti started coughing up blood. His jaundice wouldn’t go away. We ran from one hospital to another.. No one could tell us what was wrong. We traveled for months, exhausting our savings, hoping for a cure. When we finally reached Delhi, the doctors gave us the diagnosis—final-stage liver failure. They said we should have come earlier. But we had no way of knowing. Now, all they tell us is that the transplant must happen as soon as possible or we will lose him. I am feeling extremely helpless!!

He is my whole world, my only family. If I lose him, I lose everything.

For 10 years, my husband and I built a life together, dreaming of a happy future. He was a dedicated teacher who worked hard to provide for us. We hoped to have a child, but life had other plans. Instead of starting a family, we spent years fighting his illness. The pain is unbearable. I have no one—no child, no family to support me. If he goes, I will have nothing left.

His sister is donating a part of her liver to save him.

We searched everywhere for a donor, but no one matched. We were losing hope when his sister stepped forward. She didn’t think twice—she just said, “I will do it.” She is a mother, she has a family of her own, but she left everything behind to save her brother. “He is my brother. I will do anything for him,” she says. “No matter what it takes, I won’t let him die.” But how will this be possible without any funds? Right now, she is staying with me in a small rented room near the hospital. We are fighting this battle together, but some days, it feels like we are all alone.

I have begged, borrowed, and sold everything I own. And now, all I have left is your support.

We have already spent 5 lakhs—borrowing from relatives, selling our land, our two-wheeler, and even my jewelry—just to keep him alive this long. But the transplant will cost 22 lakhs, and it could rise even more if there are complications. I have nothing left to give.

Please, I am pleading with all my heart. This is our last chance. If we don’t raise the money as soon as possible, I will lose the only person I love. Nayanjyoti has given so much to the world, to his students, to me. He deserves a chance to live. Please, help me give him that chance. I am begging for one more miracle—for him, for us. This is my last hope.
