"I was my mom’s only support. Ever since my father passed away 10 years ago, it was just me, holding everything together for my elderly mother. I worked tirelessly in the media industry, ensuring we never slept hungry. But now I am bedridden after an accident that threatens to take my livelihood away from me. I am in a lot of pain, but more than that, the uncertainty of my future bothers me." -Mallikarjuna, a 35-year-old employed in the Kannada television industry.
One night, after a long workday on set, Mallikarjuna was finally heading home. He had no idea that his life was about to change forever. As he took a left turn on his scooter, a speeding lorry beside him failed to notice his vehicle. In an instant, the heavy front tire of the lorry crushed both his legs. The impact was brutal. He remembers the searing pain, the helplessness of being trapped under the massive weight. And then, darkness. When he opened his eyes, he was in the hospital.

Two emergency surgeries later, he is still in the hospital, unable to stand or move
Mallikarjuna's legs remain severely damaged, and his fight is far from over. The doctors have told him he needs two more critical surgeries—one plastic surgery and another to repair his broken bones. But before that, his wounds must heal. The pain is too much for him to bear, and he is battling constant bleeding. Doctors are doing their best to control the infection, but without further surgeries, his chances of recovery remain uncertain. For his mother, the accident has been just as devastating. Ever since she lost her husband a decade ago, Mallikarjuna had been her pillar of support. Now, she spends sleepless nights in fear, worrying not just about his recovery but about how they will afford the medical costs.

"I wanted to be a movie director. I had so many stories inside me, waiting to be told. I was writing scripts, chasing my dream. But now, I don’t even know if I will ever walk properly again. The doctor says it will take months before I can even stand."-Mallikarjuna

The accident hasn’t just stolen his mobility and his livelihood—it has left his family in deep financial distress
His younger brother, a daily wage labourer at a tile factory, is struggling to keep their household running. Their uncle, the only relative by his side, has already quit his job and sold everything he could to fund Mallikarjuna’s medical care. But with every passing day, the medical bills pile up, and they are running out of options. His mother, already burdened by grief, now carries the added weight of uncertainty and helplessness.
"I don’t want to live like this—helpless, dependent, and confined to this bed. I was once full of dreams and ambition, working hard to build a future for my family. But now, every passing day feels like a battle, not just against pain but against the fear that I may never regain my independence. I need your support urgently as I am in a very pathetic situation."- Mallikarjuna
Mallikarjuna needs urgent financial help to undergo the surgeries that can save his legs and his future.
