A Home For Babies Abandoned In Very Pathetic Circumstances

"Over the last 10 years, we have rescued many babies who have been abandoned in various places like bus stands, hospitals and orphanages. They are usually abandoned in very pathetic circumstances. We take them to nearby hospitals to get immediate neonatal care with our dedicated caretakers on an round-the-clock basis. They are in our care until they get rehabilitated in the care of a prospective adoptive parent." - Ranjini Devi, Secretary, Angel House Children's Home

In a world where most babies are born into loving families, there are those who are not blessed with the same fate. Far too often, innocent babies are abandoned in public places, often in deplorable conditions, and are left to fend for themselves, with no parents or guardians to take care of them.

Kalaiselvi Karunalaya Social Welfare Society (KKSS) is a known NGO working for the rescue, care and protection of such abandoned babies in Thiruvallur District under the recognition of Government of India, and have been running Angel House Children's Home in Mogappair West, Chennai since 2012. They take abandoned babies under their care and nurture them until they are adopted by eligible couples, as per the government's rules.

The rescued babies often need medical care and treatment for congenital ailments or contracted infections, and have to be treated in specialty hospitals. On average, at least 3 babies in the organisation's care require intensive care each month, and they approach the Sundaram Medical Foundation Hospital in this regard, where top class treatment is given to these babies. Based on a humble appeal by KKSS, the hospital has also waived off consultation and room charges in the hospitalisation expenses, easing their access to neonatal medicare for rescued infants.

But, in addition to hospitalisation charges, many babies require various medical and diagnostic tests to determine their hearing and metabolic function. Despite their best efforts, these tests and treatments are becoming increasingly difficult for them to to manage.

Angel Home is struggling to keep up with the rising costs of providing care, and frequently face challenges in affording life-saving treatment for the babies. In such cases, they have to plead to the hospital to bear with them until they can source the adequate amount, which more often than not, is difficult to arrange. Without the necessary resources, these precious babies may not survive, despite the team's hard work and dedication.

In order to be able to meet such emergency hospital treatment charges, and to continue to provide quality medicare for these babies, the organisation has created a corpus fund 'Angel House - Baby Emergency Medicare Fund', with which they hope to keep up with the skyrocketing costs of treatment. Angel Home is doing their best to give these babies a fighting chance, but they will need some help from you.

Abandoned at birth, these precious infants find themselves alone in a world filled with uncertainty. Desperate for love and nurturing, they are in need of a loving home and a compassionate caregiver to provide the care and attention that no baby should ever have to go without.

Angel Home is appealing for to you for help. Your contributions will go a long way in ensuring a healthy future for all the babies in their care. In return, the blessings of such innocent beings will go a long way in ensuring the happiness and prosperity of all the kind hearts that come forward to donate.
