On the first of February, 2-year-old Iram was admitted in the hospital in extremely critical condition. She was hardly conscious and with her weak voice, she kept calling for her mother. She was immediately taken to the ICU and since that day, the little girl has been battling to survive from a dangerous condition.
She couldn’t move her body even an inch without being in pain
“It’s been almost an year since my child started falling sick. It was during lockdown, she had high fever and she had trouble passing urine. We couldn’t take her to any hospital and were forced to stay put. But in May, when we took her to the doctor, we found out that she has kidney problem and was put on medication.” -Neha Hussein, mother
But no medicine was working for her and her condition kept getting worse. Her eyes, stomach, hands, all started swelling badly. She couldn’t move her body even an inch without being in pain. In February her condition got so critical that she was shifted to the ICU.

Iram was diagnosed with Nephrotic syndrome, a kidney disorder caused by damage to small blood vessels in the kidneys that filter waste and excess water from the blood. It is causing her body to swell and gain weight due to excess fluid retention.“It’s painful to watch my child suffer so much. It’s been weeks since she has eaten through her mouth, she is fed through pipes. I just want to take her home. I want to watch her play, jump and do mischiefs like she used to before. My chirpy little girl has fallen so silent and bedridden.” -Neha
