They Are Forced To Work With Open Wounds Which Bleed As They Carry Heavy Bags Filled With Sand

Abuse of Donkeys

 1. Donkeys are hit and whipped by their owners, which causes their skin to tear.

 2. Some donkeys have broken legs but are still forced to work.

 3. The paths where they walk are stained red with blood from their injuries.

4. Donkeys are tied with short ropes, so they can't move much.

 5. Sick and hurt donkeys don't get help from a vet.

6. Due to high dust particles many donkeys go blind and their owners rub salt and vermillion in their eyes to cure them

7. Many fragile and old donkeys are made to carry over 60-kgs of weight on their back.

8. Owners often burn them with hot iron to mark them as their own.

9. They are forced to work with open wounds which bleed as they carry heavy bags filled with sand.

10. Many old or abandoned donkeys are smuggled and butchered for donkey meat.

Current Challenges and Needed Solutions

1. Limited resources for animal welfare organizations.

2. Overwhelming number of donkeys in need, especially during critical seasons.

3. Lack of awareness and support for donkey welfare.

4. Need for sustainable solutions beyond temporary relief efforts.

5. Solution involves strengthening existing institutions, empowering communities, and advocating for long-term change.

Here's a breakdown of how your donation will make a difference:

  • Direct Relief: Every rupee donated will go towards providing food, water, and medical care for donkeys in need during the upcoming monsoon season.
  • Building a Safety Net: A portion of the funds will be used to strengthen SPCAs in the target districts, allowing them to offer ongoing support to working animals.
  • Empowering Local Heroes: Your contribution will help train volunteers and activists, equipping them with the knowledge and resources to advocate for animal welfare in their communities.
