Once a Fitness Icon, Now Paralyzed—His Mother Passed Away in Grief, & His Brother Lost His Newborn While Caring for Him

"I am Gourav, and for the past nine months, I have been on ventilation—unable to move, unable to even take a breath without support. Just a few months ago, I was full of life, training others to live healthier. My world was bright—I was about to marry the love of my life, my brother had just gotten married, and our family was complete." - Gourav

The doctor said the accident had left my spinal cord broken and I would never be able to stand or sit again

But on 8th June 2024, everything changed. I was driving when a child on a bicycle suddenly took a U-turn in front of me. I turned to save him, but my car crashed into an electric pole. I don't remember much after that. When I woke up, I couldn’t move. The doctors told me my spinal cord was broken—I would never be able to stand or sit again.

My Pain Took Everything from My Family - I Lost My Mother Last Month

"I thought the worst had already happened, but life had more suffering in store.
My mother couldn't bear to see me like this—paralyzed, dependent, struggling. The pain took her away from me forever. My brother, who dropped everything to fight for my treatment, didn’t even realize his own wife’s health was failing. In the midst of trying to save me, he lost his newborn son."
- Gourav

My Father And My Brother Are Completely Broken

Now, my father—who has already lost his wife and grandson—is terrified of losing me too. He has mortgaged everything, and taken loan after loan, but we have nothing left to continue my treatment.

My FiancĂ©e  Has Always Been By My Side

Every day, as I lie in this hospital bed, I think about the life I once had. I was an athlete, training people to become stronger, healthier. Bodybuilding was my passion, my identity. But for the past nine months, I have been motionless, dependent on machines just to breathe. I see the pain in my fiancée’s eyes—we built dreams together, trained together, and now, she watches me lie here, helpless. My heart breaks knowing how much this has taken from her, my family, and myself. -Gourav

A Ray of Hope, but Time is Running Out

There is one last chance to save me. A Diaphragm Stimulation Pacemaker can help me breathe on my own, take me off ventilation, and allow further treatment. But the device alone costs ₹40 lakhs—money we simply don’t have. We have knocked on every door and tried every hospital, but we are now at the end of our strength. If we cannot afford this treatment soon, I don’t know what will happen to me.

Please, Don’t Let My Story End Here

I never imagined my life would come to this. I used to help people become stronger, healthier, and happier. Now, I am pleading for my own life. I just want to breathe on my own.

Please, if you can, help me get this treatment. Even a small contribution can give me a chance to survive. My father has lost enough—I don’t want him to lose his son too.
