"She hadn’t eaten in over a week. She walked 42 km searching for help. When we gave her warm food, she immediately fainted…”
A 70 year old elderly walked for over 42 kms just to reach our old age home. When we took her in, she said her son threw her out and she hadn’t eaten for 8 days. Her own son had stopped feeding her, taken away her Aadhaar card as well so nobody could bring her back.

This is not just her story. This is the reality of so many abandoned elders in India.
My name is Dr. Sanjeev Bhate, and my wife Vaishnavi and I have dedicated our lives to caring for the elderly who have been left behind. I started Maya Care Centre—a home for those who have no one.

Currently These Forgotten Elders Call Us Aai and Baba
Our old age home is a place where abandoned elders find food, shelter, and, most importantly, love.
What started as a tiny one-room shelter has now grown into a 40-bed home. Every elder here, whether it's a 70-year-old Kaka or an 88-year-old Aaji, calls us Baba and Aai. Because here, we are not running an institution—we are building a family.
"People ask me, ‘Don’t you feel ashamed?’ I tell them—why should I? They are my children."

One of our residents, an 80-year-old woman, was left here by her relatives. She was so traumatized that she believed we were going to poison her. She hurled abuses, refused to eat, and tried to run away.

But we didn’t give up on her. We sat with her, fed her by hand, changed her diapers, and slowly, she began to trust us. She told us how her own sister had thrown her out to steal her property.

At this age, all they need is a warm smile and a little care.
Some people ask me, “Don’t you feel disgusted changing their diapers?” I smile and say, “Why should I? They are my children. I have to care for them.”

Maya Care Centre is Breaking Down—And We Can’t Keep Up
Every day, we provide our residents with:
✅ Nutritious meals – Breakfast, lunch, tea, dinner, and fresh fruits.
✅ Dignity and care – Clean clothes, separate beds, and medical support.
✅ Love and companionship – We celebrate birthdays, festivals, and even take them on an annual picnic.
But we are struggling.

💔 The roof has holes, and in summers our elderlies fall sick due to heat
💔 We barely have enough money for food and medicines.
💔 We don't have anybody on the staff so I myself clean the toilets.
💔 We have taken loans just to keep this home running—but we have no way to repay them.

We Dream of a Forever Home—But We Can’t Do It Alone
We want to build a permanent home on 2-3 acres of land, where these elders—and the many more who need us—will always have a safe place to call home. But we cannot do this alone. Our savings are exhausted. The number of abandoned elders keeps growing, and without help, we may not be able to continue.

Please, Help Us Keep This Home Alive
I have spent my life caring for the sick and poor. I have spent every rupee I had to keep this home running. But today, I need your help.
Every donation, big or small, can save a life.
