My World Fell Apart When I Found Out That My 17-Year-Old Son Has Blood Cancer...

When my son came home with a slight fever one evening six months ago, I thought it was nothing to worry about. He had been perfectly healthy his whole life. I gave him medicine, hoping he’d be fine by morning. But when the fever didn’t go away, my worry grew. My husband and I took him to the hospital, never imagining that this would be the start of our nightmare. Test after test, and suddenly, I was being told that my 17-year-old boy had blood cancer. My world fell apart in that instant.

I keep thinking about how his life changed overnight... how all of our lives changed. He had dreams of becoming someone, achieving something. But now he's fighting for his life while we stand helpless, unable to protect him from this cruel twist of fate.

It’s painful to watch him now

He was always so full of ambition... he wanted to join the army. He talked about it every day, how he would train hard, and make us proud. He was a bright student, a good friend, and the kind of son any parent would be lucky to have. But after his diagnosis, everything came to a stop. He had to quit school, and his hopes of wearing a soldier's uniform faded into a distant dream.

The doctors say he needs chemotherapy and then a bone marrow transplant. It’s painful to watch him now, struggling with things that used to come so easily. He misses his friends, the laughter, and the carefree days of his teenage years. No child should have to put their life on hold like this, to trade their dreams for hospital beds and painful treatments.

Our 15-year-old daughter has had to grow up far too quickly

When we first told her about her brother’s illness, she was stunned and couldn’t stop crying. Now, every day after school, she sits by his side because he can’t get up. They used to play together, but now she helps feed him, gives him his medicines, and supports him in any way she can. She tries to be brave, but I see the fear in her eyes. It's he who tries to give her strength, even though he’s the one in pain.

We have sold everything we could

Our home, our land, anything of value, it's all  gone, all to pay for our boy's treatment, yet it’s still not enough. We have exhausted all our savings, and now we rely on borrowed money just to afford basic necessities like food. There are days when my husband and I eat only once, and some days, we don’t eat at all, just to make sure our children don’t go hungry. The weight of this financial burden is suffocating, and I can’t see a way out.

Please, help us bring hope back into our lives

Our son's only chance of survival is the bone marrow transplant, and the costs run into tens of lakhs. This is far beyond our reach. We have given up everything we own, but it's still not enough. We are desperate for help, for any kindness that could save my son’s life and give our family a chance to heal. Please help us!
