With Your Help, Chachi Ki Rasoi Can Feed Hundreds of Children Fighting Hunger

I went to feed a family, where I discovered that a little girl was hungry for the last few days. Her mother was bedridden and her father had died. With nobody to earn and feed her she just sat there crying. Her face was dried and conveyed a story of hunger. - Anita Devi “Chachi”, Founder, Chachi ki Rasoi

In the hills of Sonbhadra, many families struggle to have even one meal a day. 'Chachi Ki Rasoi' is like a shining light for hundreds of kids facing hunger in this place. Anita Devi, fondly known as “Chachi”, cooks all the food herself and travels to share meals with 450 poor children every day.

In some cases there are orphaned kids who work in tough jobs like cutting stones and collecting wood for survival

As a child, Anita herself slept hungry for days. She sees all the children under her care as her own. Her humble mud house is a testament to her selfless dedication, where she spends everything she has to feed these children.

She lost her husband just a month back to a heart attack because they couldn't afford the medical expenses. Yet, despite facing these personal challenges, she continues to feed these children everyday.

Chachi Ki Rasoi needs 60kgs of rice and 5kgs of dal every day to keep going. Anita and her team spend the whole day cooking and giving food, using an old car that sometimes barely starts and risks breaking down in the jungles they navigate.

Seeing the children running towards them with plates in their hands is what keeps Anita and her team going. Every missed meal feels like it will shred her heart apart showing how urgent the situation is and why they need your help.

She needs your help in buying groceries to feed more poor children and additionally, she is in need of a new vehicle that will enable her team to reach various locations and continue providing meals to children in need
