I am the mother of two sons. My eldest, Anuj, is just 22 years old, and he has always been my pride and joy. He is bright, ambitious, and full of dreams. Anuj completed his BCom degree with so much hard work and was determined to become a Chartered Accountant. But now, all his dreams have come to a standstill.
He Has Been Suffering Everyday
Everything changed for us a few months ago. It all started with a simple headache. We thought it was nothing serious, maybe stress from his studies. But as days passed, Anuj started feeling weaker. We went from hospital to hospital, desperately searching for answers, until he was finally diagnosed with kidney failure. Since then, his health has gone downhill. He has spent so many days in the ICU, and we have watched him fight for his life on a ventilator. I cannot describe the pain of seeing your child like that—helpless, in pain, and so far from the cheerful young man he once was.
We Don’t Have Much Time Left
The doctors have now told us that the only thing that can save Anuj is a kidney transplant, and he needs it urgently—within the next 10 days. I did not think twice before offering to be his donor. I will gladly give him my kidney if it means he could live. But the surgery is very expensive. It will cost 12 lakh rupees, and we have already spent everything we had.
We Have Already Exhausted All Our Funds
We sold our land, my jewelry, and whatever little savings we had. We have borrowed from everyone we could. But it’s not enough. Anuj’s father works so hard, but his income is barely enough to keep our family afloat. My younger son is still studying, and now, he is even trying to find ways to help. But no matter how much we try, we cannot arrange this amount on our own.
We Feel Helpless, Unable To Help Him Anymore
Anuj has become so weak. It breaks my heart to see him suffer like this. I sit by his side every night, holding his hand, and praying to God to give him strength. Every day, I tell him to hold on, to fight, and that we will find a way to save him. But time is slipping away, and we are running out of options.
