12-Year-Old With Cancer Keeps Asking His Parents How Much Time He Has Left

Every parent wants the best for their children. Even if that means they have to go through hardships. It was not any different for Ajay and Anjana. Ajay chose to stay away from his family in Dhanbad, Jharkhand, and work in Hyderabad so that he could take care of his family.

“I missed them a lot. But I knew I was doing this for their good. But now I wonder if all of this was even worth it. I stayed away from home, worked hard but now when I need the money to save my son, I don’t have it,” - Ajay, father.

How much more time do I have, Papa?

Ajay’s 12-year-old son, Anubhav has been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. He is too weak to even get up on his own to go to the bathroom. For the last one month, he has been in the hospital, undergoing chemotherapy.

“He can’t eat anything at all. He vomits everything that we give him. He can’t even swallow a drop of water, he says his mouth is burning. He looks around and sees many more cancer patients beside him. He keeps asking me how much time he has, if he too will die like them…”- Ajay can’t complete his sentence.

He doesn’t have an answer. No father does. Ajay simply hugs his son and prays for his son’s fast recovery.

They have already spent in lakhs, they don’t know if they can continue the treatment

In the last few months, Ajay has spent over 4 lakhs, out of which 1 lakh was just for medicines. His savings are all over. But his son’s treatment isn’t. He works as a cook in a hotel in Hyderabad and earns around Rs 10,000.

“We are trying so hard to arrange for the 8 lakhs needed for the treatment. But there is only so much we can do. In the last few months, everything has gone haywire! My younger son can’t go to school, my husband is unable to go to work and Anubhav...he is fighting death! We don't even know if we can save him,” - Anjana, mother.

These parents are helpless. The only way they can save their 12-year-old from cancer is with your help.
