Enactus is a student organisation working towards the upliftment of the community by helping it to construct a feasible and profitable business model for long-term sustenance. We, at Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics, are proud to announce the completion of our flagship project, Project Zeenat.
What is Project Zeenat?

Project Zeenat was developed keeping in mind the idea to promote the art of Mehendi and in the process of doing so, uplift 5 financially challenged, unskilled and unemployed young girls from the slums of Worli by providing them opportunities to learn this beautiful art of Mehendi under the watchful eye of Miss. Rukshana, their teacher, for four months.We do foresee a growing market for Mehendi. With the exposure of Indian culture across the world, and rise of tourism in India, increasing number of tourists are demanding for such services as they desire an Indian experience. Thus, we shall be tying up with hotels as well. We aim to change the perception of the youth towards Mehendi, and we strongly believe it’s a great art form which will be appreciated provided it is pitched in the right manner. 

The girls of this community get married in their early 20s and leave their home. This is how everyone looks at their future but through this project we tend to change the perception and the girls associated with Zeenat will now be a source of Inspiration for the whole community.

Through Zeenat we promote Women Development, Skill Development and also bring in Financial stability.

These girls have fought the odds and emerged victorious. Now, they are not only ready to enter the market, they are going to help others and teach what they have learnt to people in their own community.  Isn’t it true when people say, “ Teach a Man and he’ll feed the family, teach a Woman and she’ll feed the whole community”?

-Applying Mehendi

-Teaching Mehendi

-Selling Mehendi Cones made by them

We, at Enactus N.M. College, along with these brave young girls have worked very hard on Project Zeenat.  We were recently covered by the Zee network, impressed by our idea to preserve such an art.

Along with that, we got our first HOTEL PARTNER, BYKE HOSPITALITY. We are also in talking terms with a few other hotels in Mumbai. We have also received our first order from Orchid Hotel for Month of July.

Financial Need= Rs. 50,000
Rs. 15,000 - Spent on Training of the women
Rs. 2500- Spent on mehendi Materials and expected spending is more Rs 5,000.
Rs. 2000- Spent on Pamphlets for Advertising
Rs 15,000 - 20,000 expected spending on Just Dial Listings.
Rs 10,000- Other Marketing and Branding Expenses
