At Yein Udaan, we aim to work on the holistic development of underprivileged children, by providing them with academic and extra-curricular training and believe that building a skill-set, independent of academic features will help children grow into confident and self-aware individuals. By forming partnerships with established individuals and groups in the city, our goal is to bridge the opportunity gap found between privileged and underprivileged children. We hope to provide such opportunities to children in several communities across Chennai, and beyond.

To provide a platform for our students to showcase their learnings from throughout the year, we organise an annual showcase for the students. This is performed by the students on themes relevant to them like alcoholism and abuse and climate change. This year will be our third annual showcase and the theme is relevant to adults and children across India, as it focuses on Child Rights as in the Indian Constitution.

The performers collaborated with technical trainers in the fields of Art, Music and Theatre to create a magical display of such sensitive themes. Working after-school hours with these teachers, following a value-based learning method, our students were able to imbibe the idea of teamwork and respect. The performance also encouraged students to interact only in English and performing in the language in the past has boosted their confidence as public speakers.

We are raising funds for the show through our donor passes for adults at INR 100 per adult. We encourage you to bring along children, without any donation requirements. The funds will be used to sponsor the show - the sound system, costumes, props and sets, and refreshments and transportation costs for the students on the day of the show.
