Usually, when parents visit their children they bring with them a bag full of sweets and home food, but that is not the case with Roshan. Every time, his mother comes to visit him, she brings a bag full of medicines for him.

Roshan, was admitted to our Spurthi Residential School for the mentally retarded when he was 10 years old because he suffers moderate Mental Retardedness (MR) from his birth, due to which he has difficulty in speech and faces frequent episodes of Epilepsy. Roshan is loved by his mother, who runs the family by working as a maid in a few houses and his father, who is also mentally challenged. More than half of what Roshan’s mother earns goes into paying rent of a small hut they live in. With such poverty, Roshan’s epilepsy is an add on to his mother’s worries.  The expenses of Roshan’s medical and hygiene needs goes upto Rs 1400/month

We can help Roshan’s mother by contributing a very small part of our daily expenses. What seems as a small contribution from our end can make a huge difference in Roshan’s and his family’s life.
