We know how greatly a proper environment supports the learning process in schools. Campus works very positively in increasing the interest of children in attendance and academics.
When Laddoo Foundation gets involved in the development of schools, and its students, improving the campus becomes one of the first focus areas. We believe children can be encouraged towards better education if their learning environment is made lively, more colourful and positive.
We plan to take up School Makeover for 20 more schools where children with limited means, study. We have targeted to do this in the next 6 months, priorto taking up initiatives & activities in these schools. These schools located in and around Ahmedabad city, are under difficult conditions and need alot of attention.
We paint the school walls with creative, informational and self-learning imagery, covering social subjects, motivational messages, educational visuals, and more. This School Makeover keeps the learning process on-going, with the regular classes as well as allows the children to think differently and have a broader perspective. We notice that teachers become more engaged and parents, more confident. If an unprivileged child is able to enjoy his/her school time and willingly embraces primary education just like any other child from a well off background, our job is done.
What do I plan to do with the funds?
We will use the funds in buying wall paint materials. We will hire and pay the paint workers who fall under poverty line and are in need of better earnings. A part of the total funds will be used for their food and transportation. The skills, time and effort of the volunteers that go into making each School Makeover more meaningful and innovative, lies under Laddoo Foundation initiative and does not incur any cost.
Cost of School Paint is Rs: 50,0000 per school, and we are targeting 20 schools in this next 6 months.
Points to Note:
1) We paint schools only after ensuring that we will be able to do activities during the year. Because we understand a school makeover alone will not make a difference. We must plan activities and take initiatives for the overall development of the children and the school.
2) We do our best to get local support.
3) We always try to invite and involve people who otherwise contribute for our causes, so that they can see the results. We also try to share basic cost out of their contribution.
