திறன் மிகு செம்மெஞ்சேரி - Talents of Chemmenchery

Children are the future of any society and it is the responsibility of that society to protect them and ensure that they get the best footing in life. All children have the right to survive, to protection, to be safe, to belong, to be heard, to receive adequate care and to grow in a protective environment.

But in a community like Chemmenchery, Children face a host of negative factors that influence them quite unknown to previous generations. Unfortunately, the safety net is fragile for many children. Without intervention, community support, and guidance they face daunting obstacles. Concern about an alarming rise of sense of insecurity, loss of purpose in life, major emotional and psychological problems, socially deviant behavior and crime rate in children has been voiced from many corners within this community.

All these Children's precious dreams were unleashed and nurtured throughout an year with our previous campaign - Feeding The Dreams of Chemmenchery observing Abdul Kalam Sir's Birthday. Thanks to all our donors, friends, supporters and Milaap for the greatest opportunity.

In continuous to our efforts of providing them positive hope and directing them towards their precious dreams, we are planning to conduct talent competitions for 1250 children from Government School and our Community Centers. We are conducting different competitions based on their age and learning level - Drawing, Rhymes, Puzzles, Creative story telling, Creative story writing, Singing, Dancing, Thirukural recitation, Drama, Best Out of Waste, Ideathon, Public Speaking, Essay Writing, Debate, Kavithai.

All these talents will be captured, framed, recorded and will be exhibited on Abdul Kalam's Birthday - 14th & 15th October 2017 to the entire parents & adults of Chemmenchery and neighboring communities to instill them a positive ray of hope for the betterment of their lives and their community through these wonderful talents.
