    This fundraiser will benefit

    Ziauddin Ahmed

    from Mohali, Punjab

We moved to Chandigarh in June 2020 with great hopes. But our dream didn't last long. My husband Ziauddin Ahmed diagnosed with Lymph Node Tuberculosis in March 2021 after 2 months of prolonged fever and weight loss. Numerous tests were conducted for a month just to diagnose the disease itself.

Once it was detected then his long-term 6 months treatment ATT ( Anti Tuberculosis Treatment) started. The treatment was free as it was done in the government hospital as TB falls under government facility. But unfortunately, it has not cured yet and needed surgery now which will be done at the hospital only. But my main challenge is to survive here on this costly city Chandigarh without work. He is not working since March 2021.

He was completely bedridden and was not able to move his hand from his neck. Due to lockdown I was also not getting any job. Anyhow I managed an online home-based job, unfortunately, I lost that too due to too many leaves I was taking as my kids had Covid in the month of April 2021 along with TB of my husband. And I was the only person who was taking care of the house, my husband's medical treatment, and kids in this new city.

I have managed everything till now with the help of my Allah, my mother, his office boss, and my few well-wisher friends who supported me throughout this tough journey of mine so far. But now things went beyond my control and I really can't bear it anymore. Hence I was advised for this fundraiser so that we can survive here with kids at this costly city without anyone known to us.

My son is in class 12th this year and I can't go back to Kolkata in between his term. Hence this fund will be used for my rent, son's tuition fees, and other household expenses till he appears for his class 12th board exams on March 2022 then we can go back to our hometown.

It's been 1 year now and the ATT treatment is still going on and doctor advised in some cases it takes more than a years time to be fully recovered from it. He also developed Torticollis and it is really difficult for him to do any kind of physical work for long hours. Even if he wants he can't work due to extreme pain at his neck during this winter.
